Teleworking refers to a working arrangement or style of work where an employee does their work outside the office or outside the main office. Usually they work at home one or more days a week and communicate with the office by phone or other Internet-based form such as chat or email.
This type of flexible work organization may also include some other non-traditional work settings, such as flexible hours, although this is not necessarily the case for all remote work assignments.
Remote work generally refers to a state of work in which a person regularly is behind off site, but sometimes it is also used as a temporary term, such as when someone will be working from home on weekends or while on vacation.
However, it is not usually a term used for situations where employees occasionally take work home with them, or where employees’ work involves a large amount of off-site work or travel (such as sales).
