Whether it’s to confirm that you know when a text message from your mom is coming or to notify you that the email you were waiting for has arrived, notifications on your phone serve an important purpose. However, what do you do when you’re trying to shoot an enemy and a notification pops up on the screen that you don’t care about? Well, don’t be afraid; we have all the details on how to manage your notifications in Gear VR.
How to turn off notifications
When it comes to notifications, you only have two options. You can get all your notifications in VR or none of them. There is currently no way to demarcate notifications.
While you certainly don’t need to turn off notifications, doing so will ensure that your phone doesn’t bother you in VR mode. After all, half the fun is being able to truly immerse yourself in whatever experience you choose to play. If you’re getting notifications from the real world every few minutes, it probably won’t be that much fun.
Luckily, this is pretty easy to do. All you have to do is go to settings using the button on the headset. Then look at the gear icon on the middle right side of the screen to open the settings menu. Once you get to the settings menu, you will see a bell icon in the bottom left corner of the screen. By tapping the touch screen while looking at the icon, you can enable or disable notifications. This means you can easily choose between receiving notifications or switching to Do Not Disturb mode without too much hassle.
