What is a plex?
Plex is a service that allows you to set up a server where you can store your favorite movies, TV shows, music, and photos. This allows you to stream media from the server to supported devices, wherever you are. You will need to download and set up a Plex server from your PC or laptop and then move the files you want to keep on your server to the Plex folder. How do I use Plex with Gear VR?
While most of the time you need access to Plex with the app, this is not possible with Gear VR. This is because you don’t have access to the Plex app for Oculus. Luckily, there’s an easy way around the fact that there’s no app to open. This is because you can access your Plex server from the Samsung internet app. While there are options to try downloading other apps and do it that way, the easiest way is to use Samsung’s internet.
All you have to do is go to Plex.tv/web and then sign in. Once connected, you should see all the media that is stored on your server and the interface should be fairly familiar. Just select the show or movie you want to watch and click play. You’ll probably have to wait a few minutes for the video to load properly, but once it does, you’re done. You can even expand the screen using the icon in the lower right corner of the screen, and then your video will fill the entire screen. Voila! Now you are watching your favorite movies saved in Plex and stuck in VR all the time with Gear VR.
