SkyBell HD keeps all your latest recorded videos stored in the cloud, up to 20 videos at a time. This can happen quickly if your doorbell is used frequently, so here’s how to download videos from your SkyBell HD to keep it locally forever.

Unlike most other video intercoms and Wi-Fi security cameras that store all recorded videos for a certain period of time, SkyBell HD works differently. It will only store the 20 most recent videos it captures. So, depending on how often it records movement or button presses, old videos can stay there for weeks or disappear in just a couple of days.

So if your SkyBell HD is filming something remarkable, it might be worth downloading it locally to your device so it’s saved permanently without the risk of it crashing and being automatically deleted. Here’s how to do it.

Open the SkyBell HD app on your phone and you will see the main screen with the history of your recorded videos on the bottom half.

If you are using Android, all you have to do is find the video you want to download and click on the download button to the right of the video. Give it a few minutes for the video to load and you’ll eventually get a pop-up saying it’s successfully uploaded to your phone’s movie catalog.

On the iPhone, it’s a little different. Instead of a dedicated front and center download button, you need to swipe left on the video you want to download. From there, click Download. Give it a few minutes to download and you’ll get a pop-up informing you that the video is now saved to your iPhone’s folder.

That’s all there is to it! After downloading the video to your phone, you can share it to several different cloud storage services or send it to a friend, depending on what options are available on your Android or iOS device.
