How to Clear Website Data and History on iPad

Apple makes it easy to delete website data, including cookies, and your web browsing history.

  1. Go to settings iPad .

  2. Scroll down the menu at the bottom of the left panel and select safari, to open Safari settings.

  3. Click » Clear history and website data», to delete all records of websites you have been to iPad, and all website data (cookies) collected on the iPad.

Prevent Cookies in Safari Privacy Mode

Safari’s privacy mode prevents sites from appearing in your web history or accessing cookies. Easily browse iPad in privacy mode .

When you’re browsing in privacy mode, the top menu bar in Safari will be dark gray to let you know you’re in privacy mode.

How to delete cookies from a specific site

Removing cookies from a specific website is useful if you’re having issues with one site but don’t want all of your usernames and passwords to be deleted from other websites you visit. You can remove cookies from a specific website by going to Advanced settings at the bottom of Safari settings.

  1. Return to settings safari and press » Additionally» at the bottom of the screen.

  2. Select website data, to open a list of websites.

  3. If the website you are looking for is not on the first page, click Show all sites to see the full list.

  4. Swipe from right to left on the website name to open the delete button. When you press Delete data from this site is deleted.

    There is no confirmation screen after this step.

  5. If you’re having trouble clearing data with a swipe, you can make the process easier by clicking button » Edit» at the top of the screen. This places a red circle with a minus sign next to each site. Clicking the button next to a website opens button » Delete» which you click to confirm your intent.

You can also remove data from all sites by clicking Delete all site data at the bottom of the list.

How to prevent cookies

You can prevent iPad from accepting cookies from all Safari websites on the Settings screen.

  1. Go to screen settings and tap safari on the left panel.

  2. Move the slider next to » Block all cookies» in position » On / Green».
