To access the router as an administrator, you should know IP address router, as well as password and name administrator user .
How to Access Your Router as an Administrator

Follow these steps to connect to the router with administrator rights:
These steps work for almost any router and modem and can be completed using any modern web browser on both desktop and mobile devices.
-
Make sure your computer is connected to the router with cable ethernet or wireless connection .
If you’re trying to access your router from outside your network, you’ll need to enable what’s commonly referred to as remote administration. You also need to know the external IP address of the router so that you can enter that address into your browser. However, this type of connection is not guaranteed even if the remote administrator setting is enabled because the IP address can change easily (if it is a dynamic IP address, which is what most home networks have).
-
Determine the router’s IP address. Most routers are made to use a default address such as 192.168.0.1 , 192.168.1.1 , 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.1.100 .
If they don’t work and you don’t know the router’s default IP address or it has been changed, see Management » How to find the IP address of the default gateway » .
-
Open a web browser such as Microsoft Edge , Internet Explorer , Chrome or firefox, and request a connection to the router using its IP address. For example, enter http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar to connect to the router with the IP address 192.168.1.1.
-
Enter your administrative login and authorization information.
Routers come with default usernames and passwords — usually the word admin, but they may be different for your router (some may not even have a password or use a username).
Follow these links to view passwords and default usernames for routers NETGEAR , D-Link , Linksys and cisco, if you have one of these routers, or refer to your router’s documentation if you’re not sure what it is.
Some routers are not accessed as described above. Most of them, but some like Google WiFi require different (usually simpler) steps, such as using a mobile app.
What should I do if I cannot access the router?
