Doorbell is a Wi-Fi enabled doorbell system with a built-in camera that allows you to quickly see who is at the door. But its internal battery means you need to charge it once or twice a year. Here’s how to recharge your doorbell when the battery runs out.

While you can run the Ring Doorbell from traditional doorbell wiring and not worry about recharging the battery, its great feature is that it can be powered entirely by the internal battery so you don’t have to fiddle with any wires. which makes installation super easy. The good news is that charging the Ring Doorbell is really easy.

First, you can see how much juice is left in your doorbell by opening the Ring app on your phone and tapping on the device at the top of the screen.

To recharge the ring doorbell, you need to remove it from the mounting bracket and stick it inside, so start by removing the two security screws from the bottom with the included screwdriver that came with the ring doorbell. Once they are removed, you can pick it up and then take it out to remove the block. Bring it inside because you will need to plug it into a computer or a power outlet.

There is a microUSB port on the back of the doorbell which you will use for charging.

Take the orange cable that came with your doorbell (or use any microUSB cable) and connect it to the doorbell box.

Take the other end and plug it into your computer or wall outlet using a USB-AC adapter. The blue LED light around the doorbell button will light up and show how charged it is. When the ring is full, the battery is charged to 100%.

Charging will take several hours, especially if the battery was almost empty. I charged mine when it was at about 60% and it took about an hour.

Of course, the only downside is that while you’re charging your doorbell, there’s nothing there if someone comes to your front door, so you won’t be able to see who’s there from your phone. However, a few hours once or twice a year isn’t too bad of a sacrifice, especially with such a simple setup.
