Usually Amazon Prime costs $119 per year unless you can get a discount on a Prime membership. If you’re willing to forego two-day free shipping, Amazon Prime Video Library, Prime Day, and other perks, here’s how you can exit Prime.
Here’s the good news: You can get a refund if you paid for Prime but didn’t use your benefits during that period. So, if Amazon just auto-renewed your Prime subscription and charged you, you might be able to get your money back. Even if you cannot get a refund, you can cancel your Prime membership and keep your benefits until the end of your paid membership period. Amazon will not automatically charge you for renewal.
To get started, go to the Amazon website. Sign in to your Amazon account if you’re not already signed in. Hover over «Account and Lists» in the top right corner of the page and click «Your Primary Membership».
Click the End Membership & Benefits link in the Manage Membership section on the left side of the page. This starts the process of canceling your membership.
Amazon will remind you what you’re giving up. You can click «End My Benefits» and go through the prompts to continue with the cancellation process.
