menu bar in macOS provides menu access for systems and applications such as Apple , file and Help . The menu bar is always visible, so no matter what application you’re using or how many windows you have open on your desktop, you can access menus and commands in the menu bar.
You can customize parts of the menu bar by adding shortcuts to frequently used features and functions such as volume, Bluetooth connected devices, and Wi-Fi networks. Below is how to add Extract menu to the MacOS menu bar so you can quickly eject a CD or DVD without having to move windows to drag the disc icon to the Trash.
Instructions in this article apply to Mac OS X Leopard (10.5) and later. Menu and command names may vary depending on the version of OS X or macOS that is installed on your computer.
Add Extract Menu to Menu Bar
Accessing the eject functions from the menu bar provides benefits beyond quickly ejecting a disc. For example, if your computer has several optical drives in menu » Extract» all drives are listed so you can select the drive you want to eject.
Eject The menus are also useful when ejecting a stubborn CD or DVD, for example, a disc formatted by MacOS does not recognize. Because the CD or DVD is never mounted (that is, it is not made available to the computer), there is no icon to drag to the trash and there is no pop-up menu that can be used to eject the disc.

To add menu » Extract» in the menu bar, do the following:

Open Finder .

From go menu select Go to folder .

In field Go to folder enter /System/Library/CoreServices/Menu add-ons .
Folder names in the library are case sensitive.

AT folder » Menu additions » double click eject.menu .
Icon menu » Extract» is added to the menu bar (the icon is a chevron with a line below it).

Select icon «Extract» menu to display all optical drives connected to the Mac. AT Depending on the current state of each drive, the command » Open» or » Close» .
Position the «Extract» menu icon in the menu bar.
Like any other menu bar icon, you can position icon «Extract» menu to make it appear anywhere on the menu bar. To change position icon » Extract» press and hold key » command» on the keyboard, then drag icon » Extract» to the right place in the menu bar.
