Google Home Frees Your Hands

With a little help from Bon Appetit, The Food Network, and The New York Times, to name just three, Google Home can now read step-by-step cooking instructions for any of over 5 million recipes. Which, since cooking requires the use of two hands, can be insanely useful.

The first thing you need to do is find the recipe you want to follow. You can find it online using Google Assistant or Google Search. Once you find it, click «Submit to Google Home» to save your recipe. Then, when you’re ready to start cooking, say «OK Google, start cooking.»

Then you can collect all the ingredients and get ready to cook. Google Home will read the first step and give you time to catch up. When you’re ready to move on, just say «OK Google, next step.» Or, if you need to repeat the last step, say «OK Google, repeat.»

Repeat this process until you can hear every step of the recipe, and if you’re lucky, you’ll get something delicious. Or at least edible. As we mentioned earlier, Home page page page may help you follow a recipe, but it won’t turn you into a Michelin-starred chef. At least not overnight.

A useful addition to any kitchen

This makes Google Home a useful addition to any kitchen. Moreover, even the most serious chef in the world could not prepare 5 million recipes for himself in his entire life. The only losers from this will be those chefs who prepare glossy cookbooks for the holidays every year.
