Set up your camera

The first piece of advice we have for you cannot be underestimated. Make sure your game space, and especially your camera, is set up correctly for Farpoint. This game needs to be played standing up, and if the camera has trouble tracking your movements, you’ll have a bad time. At the start of the game you will be calibrating where the game can read your moves.

This is important because from time to time you need to place the target controller in a certain place where it can be seen. If this area ends up slightly outside of this calibrated zone, it won’t read properly and you’ll have to give up VR to try and correct the situation. Farpoint also uses your height in its calibration measurements to make sure it knows where the controller is actually located, and if the camera isn’t set up correctly you can use the laser sights and set the gun to the wrong position.

Take the time before you start to make sure you have a decent set up that will save you time in the long run. So do it.

Enable Turn Control

If you’re playing in a small or otherwise less than ideal play space, turning on turn control will be a huge advantage. The PlayStation Camera must follow the front and sides of your PlayStation VR helmet in order to properly track you. This can become especially problematic if you’re spinning in circles trying to avoid arachnids.

By enabling the rotation controls in the menu, you can ensure that the camera will always see you correctly, giving you smooth tracking in terms of gameplay. You can choose the rotation method to make sure it’s the best fit for your game from three different options.
