Of course, such a feature can be found on any programmable thermostat, but Nest makes it pretty quick and easy to set a schedule and do it right from your smartphone in the Nest app, but you can also do it right on the thermostat. myself. Here’s how to do it both ways.

In the nest app

To get started, open the Nest app and tap the Nest thermostat on the home screen.

Click on «Schedule» at the bottom.

This will result in a blank spreadsheet that looks just like it would in any calendar app. Click on the day of the week. Let’s start with Monday.

Click «Add» in the lower right corner of the screen.

This will make the grid appear. Then click anywhere on the vertical axis above the time you want to set for a particular temperature. So if you want 72 degrees at 6 a.m., press somewhere right above «6A».

When you click, a dot will appear with a temperature and time below that.

To adjust the temperature to 72 degrees, press and hold the dot and then drag it up until it shows «72».

Then, to set the time, press and hold the dot and drag it from left to right to set the specific time you want to set. The time can be set to the hour or in 15 minute intervals such as 6:00, 6:15, 6:30, etc.

Once this is finished, you will be done setting that particular temperature and time. If you want to add more, just repeat the same process.

Scan swipe left to go to the next day and set temperature/time preferences for that day, so if you want it to be 72 degrees at 6am every day, you will need to repeat the above steps six times to complete for the week , but you can create custom settings for each day if you like.

To delete an entry, simply click «Delete» in the bottom right corner and then click on the entry to delete it.

To edit an existing entry, press and hold it and edit it accordingly by sliding it up or down and left or right.

You can also set and set up a schedule right from your Nest thermostat using the scroll wheel and display.
