Amazon Dash Buttons are a convenient way to order supplies that need to be purchased regularly. Press the button, and in a couple of days the package will appear at your doorstep. However, it would be nice to know that the button worked. Here’s how to get notified when your Dash Button places an order.

While it’s convenient to press the Dash button to order items, there’s no confirmation other than a small green LED that tells you the button is working. If you leave and it doesn’t work, you may not figure it out for a while, unless you’ve dedicated yourself to checking open orders. Receiving a notification lets you know that it worked. It’s also a handy way to find out if a weird kid or roommate has pressed the button for fun. Unless you are pleasantly surprised, when you come home, you will find sixty packs of toilet paper in the door.

To enable Dash Button notifications, open the Amazon app and tap the menu button in the top left corner.

Scroll down the menu a bit, tap Settings, and then tap Notifications.

At the bottom of the Personalized Notifications list, click Dash Button Updates to enable notifications.

From now on, whenever you use your Dash button, you should be notified that an order has been placed.
