Smartphones such as Apple iPhone are used every day to pay bills, conduct business, buy goods, and more. To do all this, you repeatedly enter personal information such as names, email addresses, credit card details, phone numbers, usernames, and passwords. Function autocomplete iPhone which works with safari prepopulates most of this commonly used data. It’s easy to turn on autocomplete and add, change, or update the information it retrieves.

The instructions in this article apply to iPhones running iOS 12 and above.

Turn on autocomplete to use your contact information

First, make sure autocomplete is enabled in Safari’s preferences so it can use your contact information. To enable autocomplete for using your contact information:

  1. Open Appendix » Settings» .

  2. Click safari, to open Safari settings .

  3. Click Autocomplete .

  4. Turn on toggle switch » Use contact information .

  5. Click My Information .

  6. Choose your contact information .

  7. Your contact information is now enabled for autofill.

To change another contact, tap My Information and update it with a new contact.

Change or update your personal autofill information

Autofill retrieves your personal information, including your name, phone number, and email address, from your My Card in Contacts. Here’s how you can change or update this information:

  1. open contacts .

  2. Click My map at the top of the screen.

  3. Click » Change» .

  4. Change your name or company name and add a phone number, email address, birthday, URL and more.

  5. Click Ready .

  6. Your personal contact information has changed and Autofill will now pull that updated information.

Your phone number is automatically pulled from the settings. You can add additional phone numbers such as a home number. Likewise, email addresses are pulled from Mail and cannot be changed here, but you can add a new email address.

Enable or change autofill for credit and debit cards

To enable autofill to use your credit and debit card information, and to add a new credit card to autofill:

  1. Open Appendix » Settings» .

  2. Click safari, to open Safari settings .

  3. Click Autocomplete .

  4. Turn on toggle switch credit cards, to enable credit card autofill.

  5. Click Saved credit cards.

  6. Enter your iPhone passcode or Touch ID if required, or use face ID, if supported.

  7. Scroll down and select Add credit card .

    Add a credit or debit card manually, or use your camera to take a picture of the card.

  8. Autofill can now access your updated credit card information.

To edit or delete any saved credit card, go to » Settings» > » Safari» > » Autofill» > » Saved Credit Cards » and click on the card you want to edit or delete. Click » Change», and then click » Remove Credit Card » or change your credit card information. Click Ready .

Enable or change autofill for IDs and passwords

Activate iCloud Keychain

To enable autofill to save and use IDs and passwords, must be activated first iCloud keychain . To activate iCloud Keychain:

  1. Open Appendix » Settings» and touch your Apple ID banner at the top of the screen.

  2. Click iCloud .

  3. Scroll down the list and select a bunch of keys .

  4. Turn on toggle switch iCloud Keychain and enter your Apple ID password if required.

Enable autofill to use saved IDs and passwords

To allow autofill to use your saved IDs and passwords:

  1. Go to » Settings» and scroll down to » Passwords and Accounts» .

  2. Click Autocomplete passwords .

  3. Switching password autocomplete to On .

    In chapter » Allow padding with» make sure «iCloud Keychain» is checked.

  4. Your saved passwords are now available for autofill.
