Setting up a mail folder on iPhone is easy. Knowing how to create your own mailboxes on your device ios, can be especially useful if you use Mail app to access gmail , Yahoo! Mail or any other mail services .

All steps below have been tested on iPhone with iOS 12 . These instructions should also apply to other versions of iOS as well as iPad .

How to Create a Folder in the iPhone Email App

Creating new mailboxes takes just a few clicks and you can name them whatever you want.

  1. open Appendix Mail on your iPhone.

  2. In your inbox, tap icon ( < ) in the top left corner to see list their mailboxes .

  3. Click » Change» at the top of the screen.

  4. Select New mailbox in the lower right corner.

  5. Enter the desired name for the new folder in the corresponding field.

  6. To select a different parent folder, tap the account under » Mailbox Location » and select the desired parent folder.

  7. Click Save then press Ready .

You can also create your own folders in the Apple Mail app at Mac and sync them to your iPhone or iPad. Delete all folders that you’ve set up in the iOS Mail app when you no longer need them.

How to move messages to a custom mailbox

When you receive emails in your inbox, move them to your custom folders to keep them organized.

  1. open Appendix Mail on your iOS device.

  2. On the screen » Mailboxes» tap the mailbox containing the messages you want to move.

  3. Click » Change» then select the emails you want to move by clicking on the circles next to each one.

  4. Click Move .

  5. Select a custom mailbox from the list that appears to move the selected emails.
