Your echo show is a device that the whole family can share, which means you’ll want to make sure everyone can see and hear it. Here’s how to adjust your brightness settings, turn off adaptive brightness, and change the alarm volume.
Change brightness
Changing the brightness on the Echo Show is the easiest. Swipe down from the top of the screen to see a collection of keyboard shortcuts. Swipe the brightness slider left and right to adjust the brightness level.
Echo Show also automatically adjusts its own brightness based on the lighting in the room. This feature is called «adaptive brightness». Basically, when you adjust the brightness, Echo Show will try to maintain that brightness level relative to the light in the room, even if it changes the brightness of the screen. Most modern smartphones use the same feature. This is useful so you don’t have to manually adjust the brightness when the sun goes down.
However, your echo show lives indoors, so you may not want it to change brightness just because you turned on the lamp. If you want to disable adaptive brightness, swipe down from the top of the screen and tap Settings.
Scroll down the list and click Show.
