Apple announced its own credit card in early 2019. Apple Card is now available to a growing number of people. Here’s how to apply for an Apple Titanium Credit Card.
The Silicon Valley company began rolling out the Apple Card subscription option in early August 2019. Because the initial rollout is only in the US, you may not be eligible to apply until Apple expands in your region.
Because Apple Card capabilities are primarily found on the iPhone, Apple requires the phone to be running iOS 12.4 or later. This version of the OS, and everything after it, includes Apple Card support.
Apply for an Apple Card
When you’re ready to apply for an Apple Card, open the Wallet app. If you can’t find an app on your iPhone, swipe down on the home screen and use the spotlight search to find it.
Then click on the «+» icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
The next screen explains that adding cards to Apple Pay allows you to make purchases using your phone and online. Select «Continue» to move forward.
If you’re eligible to apply for an Apple Card, you’ll see an option for a credit card listed. Select «Apple Card» to begin the process.
The Wallet app now explains what features the Apple Card offers and interest rate information from 12.99% to 23.99%. We recommend that you review the Apple Card rates and terms, and then click Continue.
Now you need to verify some personal information. First, make sure your name, date of birth, and phone number are correct. Select «Next» to continue.
Second, verify your residential address. This information is required for billing and your credit report. Click next.
After that, enter the last four digits of your social security number and then select «Next».
Finally, enter your annual income and then select «Next». This information will help the bank determine the loan amount it will grant you.
Before Goldman Sachs uses your credit, Apple will provide you with the terms of the card, its privacy policy, software agreements, and more. We suggest that you read them and then select «Agree» if you agree with the legal documents.
You will now need to verify your identity using your driver’s license or photo ID. Click Continue and then follow the on-screen instructions to take a photo of the front and back of your ID.
Goldman Sachs will verify all of your information and a credit check will be performed. When the application is completed, the Wallet application will indicate whether you are approved or not. If yes, you will be shown your credit limit and APR based on your credit report.
We encourage you to review the Goldman Sachs terms and conditions. Then click «Accept Apple Card» to agree to the rates, terms and conditions. If you would like to decline the line of credit, select «No thanks».
The Wallet app will now ask if you want to make Apple Card your default payment method for Apple Pay. You can select «Use as default card» to use it everywhere, or «Set as default later in wallet» to continue using your other cards.
Once the card has been added to your wallet, click Continue.
Order a Titanium Apple Card
Once you’ve approved the Apple Card and added it to your wallet, you’ll be asked if you’d like a physical card. Using a titanium credit card only gives you back one percent of your purchases, but that’s fine if the business doesn’t accept mobile forms of payment.
Click «Continue» to move forward, or «No thanks» to select the «digital only» option.
Select «Confirm» if your mailing address is correct. The titanium card should be sent to you in about a week.
That’s all! You can now see your Apple Card in the Wallet app. If you select it, you will be shown your total balance, available credit, reports on your weekly activity and future payments.
