How to activate the App Store and iTunes Gift Cards

App Store and iTunes gift cards make great gifts. Use them for apps, music, movies, books, games and more in iTunes Store Apple , App Store and other Apple services. It’s easy to use the App Store and iTunes gift card, whether you’re using an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, PC, Mac, or Android device.

You must have an Apple ID to use a gift card. If not its easy create .

Activate the App Store and iTunes Gift Card

When you redeem the App Store and iTunes Gift Card, you add credit to your Apple ID balance, which you can use to make purchases in the App Store, iTunes Store, Apple TV app, or Apple Books. Credits can also be used to upgrade iCloud storage or pay for subscriptions such as Apple Music, Apple Arcade, Apple TV+, Apple TV Channels, or Apple News+.

You cannot use your credit to buy gifts for someone else or buy more gift cards. You also cannot share credit with family members, even if you use Family Sharing.

Before you can redeem a gift card, you will need the card’s redemption code. Peel or gently erase the sticker on the back of the gift card above the barcode to access the 16-digit code beginning with X. (Older gift cards may have the redemption code in a different section of the card.)

Here’s how to use the App Store and iTunes Gift card on different devices.

Activate the App Store and iTunes Gift Card on Mac

open App Store on your Mac.
Select your name or the login button in the sidebar.
Select Use a gift card .
Select » Use camera» and follow the instructions. If for any reason you cannot use your camera, select You can also enter your code manually and then follow the instructions on the screen.
Credits from your gift card are now added to your Apple ID balance.

Activate the App Store and iTunes Gift Card on PC

open iTunes on your computer.
From the menu bar at the top of the iTunes window, select » Account» .
Select To repay .
Sign in and follow the on-screen instructions to receive your gift card.
Credits from your gift card are now added to your Apple ID balance.

Download the App Store and iTunes Gift Card to your iOS mobile device

open app store app .
At the bottom of the screen, click » Today» .
Click the button at the top of the screen entrance (or your image).
Click Redeem a gift card or code .

If you don’t see Redeem a gift card or code you may need to sign in with your Apple ID.
Click » Use camera» and follow the instructions on the screen. If you cannot use the camera, tap You can also enter your code manually and then follow the instructions on the screen.
Enter 16 digit code from your app store and an iTunes gift card that starts with X.
Click Ready .
Credits from your gift card are now added to your Apple ID balance.

Activate the App Store and iTunes Gift Card on an Android mobile device

On your Android device, you can only use gift cards for Apple Music subscriptions.

open Appendix Apple Music .
Click menu button and then click » Account» .
Click Redeem a gift card or code .
Enter the code on the back of the card, then click » To repay» .

If you received a gift card in the App Store and iTunes via email, open it and click button » Restore now» .
