PlayStation Aim Controller

One of the most exciting aspects of Farpoint is that the PlayStation Aim Controller was created with the game in mind. This is an accessory that every FPS gamer will want to shoot in VR. The Aim Controller is a two-handed rifle mockup used to aim and fire at anything that moves during your VR adventures. It releases with Farpoint on May 16, 2017.

There is actually a lot going on with this controller. It includes two pens, a pointer and input buttons, and a trigger mechanism and is designed for two-handed use. The place where the attachment on your weapon would be is what looks like a movement globe. This is the same glowing ball that the PlayStation camera will pick up when you play in virtual reality. It pumps battery and vibration feedback while playing.

Being able to have a controller that you hold like a rifle while shooting enemies in virtual reality will add a whole new level of immersion. You’ll be able to aim and shoot while holding a controller similar to what you see through a PlayStation VR headset. There is no word yet on how much it will cost as a standalone accessory or what other games will work with the controller later, but you can grab it with Farpoint bundled on launch day and it will set you back $79.99 at most stores. , If you’re an Amazon Prime subscriber, you can snag almost $20 when you pre-order.
