If there’s one PlayStation VR experience that grabs attention, it’s Batman Arkham VR. For now, Arkham VR is a console-exclusive that gives Batman fans something that no other game has ever had before.
You are Batman.
It is a little short and at all the full Dark Knight experience, but it’s one of the first PlayStation VR games to buy.
Because you are Batman.
Arkham VR comes from Rocksteady, known for other Arkham games for console and PC, but it doesn’t feel like a regular Batman release. Not only because it’s in virtual reality, but also because it looks more like something Telltale Games could have created.
It’s a childhood fantasy come to life
Instead of roaming around, driving a Batmobile, and dealing with bad guys, Arkham VR is a story-driven experience where you follow clues and investigate a crime that’s happening close to home. With VR at your disposal, you are completely immersed in your environment, and with the touch of a triangular button, you can instantly switch viewpoints.
I won’t tell the story because it’s not fair. But Arkham VR starts from the very beginning, when young Bruce witnesses his parents being murdered. You then wake up at Wayne Manor and look around the luxurious home before heading to the Batcave.
