More than 75 years ago, the World’s Fair featured the most innovative ideas of the time. It was here that inventors from all over the world presented their ideas for the future to the masses.

Telephone. Electric socket. X-ray machine. Have you ever heard of them? All of them made their debut at the World’s Fair.

These days, however, the inventors have moved elsewhere. Forget the World’s Fair and start walking towards the Maker Faire This is the place for modern innovation.

The first Maker Faire took place in San Francisco in 2006. It was launched and managed by Make Magazine, but it was the brainchild of technology writer Dale Dougherty, who believed he would be the place where the «creator» in all of us you can go out and play.

In fact, Dale believed that inside everyone there is a creator. The first issue of Make Magazine made it clear when Dale announced his vision:

“We are not just consumers of technology, we are producers adapting technology to our needs and integrating it into our lives. Some of us are born producers, while others, like me, become creators almost without realizing it.”

Unlike the World’s Fair, which eventually became overly commercialized, the Maker Faire was a return to mass invention. is a place where anyone can showcase their innovation and creativity. .
