From all major android apps to find your phone is vital — after all, if you lose your phone, you won’t be able to use other apps on it! All kinds of Android apps offer to find your lost phone, but did you know that this feature is already built into your Android?

There are two ways to find a lost phone. : one using Google Now features and the other with android device manager .

The former requires setting up a few Google Now settings on your phone, which you may not want to enable for privacy reasons; Device Manager contains more features and doesn’t require much setup, so that’s what we’ll discuss.

For best results, you need to set your phone’s «Location» to » High accuracy», so that Device Manager gives you the most accurate results. This will have more of an effect on the battery than the other settings, so for more balance you can select the » Battery saving» in » Settings»> «Location» on your phone.

To make sure your device is ready to use Device Manager, just go to Android Device Manager on the web and sign in with the Google account you use on your phone.

After a minute to find your device, the site will show you where your phone is (it even supports multiple Android devices if you have them). You can see when the phone was last seen and where it is.

When you lose your phone, you can call at full volume for five minutes (great for when it’s under the couch), change your lock screen passcode, or wipe your device completely. Hopefully you never have to erase your phone, but there is a way to keep you safe.
