Move your desktop to the cloud with OneDrive
Before you start, install OneDrive desktop sync client in your Windows versions . Windows 10 and Windows 8.1 already have this program, but Windows 7 users will need to download and install the sync client manually. Windows 8 users can upgrade to Windows 8.1, to start using OneDrive.
open conductor Windows right click » Desktop» and select » Properties» .
AT dialog box » Desktop properties » select tab » Location «.
Select Move .
Double click OneDrive .
Select » New folder», to create a new folder.
Name the new folder Desktop and press Enter .
Whatever you call the folder, it shows up as Desktop in the OneDrive file list. If you have three computer desktops syncing to the same OneDrive account, each uses a different folder name, but each appears as Desktop .
FROM desktop folder is highlighted, click Select folder .
Select Apply, to apply the new settings. Text input field on tab » Location ‘ should look like this:
Select Yes, to confirm that you want to move your desktop to OneDrive.
Click OK, to close dialog window » Desktop Properties «.
You can move any folder on your Windows PC to OneDrive using the same process.
Are my files protected in the cloud?
Moving your desktop or other folders to the cloud is more convenient than transferring files from a USB drive . However, there are some effects for security, which should be considered. Whenever you post files online, they are potentially available to others. Law enforcement may, for example, use a warrant to request access to your files, and you may not know when this will happen.
A more common difficulty is when hackers guess or steal your account password. If this happens, the bad guys have access to your OneDrive files. It’s not a big deal if all you have saved in the cloud is old poetry from high school. However, unauthorized access to work documents or personal information files can be devastating.
