Google Now is packed with incredible features and getting better and better. One of the main advantages of the service is that it brings you the information you need without any involvement, so you get the information even before you ask for it.

While this is certainly welcome in most cases, sometimes Google Now notifications can feel invasive or just pop up when you don’t need them. Here’s how to turn them off.

Open Google Now by sliding it all the way to the left (if you’re using the stock version of Google Now available) or by simply opening the Google app. Click on the hamburger menu in the top left corner and select » Settings» . Then click » Now the cards and look under the heading » Get notified» .

Below are the categories that will trigger Now notifications in your tray. You’ll see them often for the weather (when it’s much colder tomorrow than today, for example) or for sports matches from teams you’ve bookmarked.

Many of them are useful (for example, being able to read the menu for the restaurant you just entered), so you may want to leave some enabled but not others.

That’s all! I hope Google Now doesn’t annoy you too much, but disabling anything you see a lot should help. Don’t forget that you can create your own Google Now reminders. that you will be much happier to see the popup!
