Fire TV Articulate DVR is a great addition to your fire tv watching experience . It displays and records over-the-air television.

What you need
To get started, you must have:
- Fire TV Recast
- TV antenna (indoor or outdoor)
- RF coaxial cable
- iOS or Android smartphone or Fire Tablet
- Internet services
- Broadband router with Wi-Fi capability
- Amazon account
- Fire Edition TV , Fire TV stick/box or echo show
How to Set Up Fire TV Relay
To set up Fire TV Recast:

Make sure your smartphone, Fire TV, Echo Show and Fire TV Recast DVR connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
You cannot set up Fire TV Recast from the Amazon site. It doesn’t have a screen or its own remote control.

Open the Fire TV app on your smartphone.

When prompted select Fire TV Recast and go to the welcome screen.

Turn on Location and select your antenna range, then press Next (if you don’t know the range, go ahead anyway).

The Fire TV app guides you through tips on connecting and placing the antenna.
If you rely on an indoor antenna, placing it near or on a window provides the best performance. Also, position the Recast so that the antenna cable can reach it, and place the Recast near an AC outlet .

Plug in the antenna and connect the Recast to AC power.
LED on fire TV remake should start flashing white. Hold down the Fire TV Recast connect button (located on the back) for 8 seconds.

Connect Recast to your network (Wi-Fi or Ethernet).
Once the internet connection is confirmed, the Fire TV Recast registers and checks for firmware updates. If updates are found, they will take a few minutes to download and install. Do not perform any other tasks during this time.

After installing updates, Fire TV Recast scans for available over-the-air TV channels. Progress is displayed on the application screen. The number of channels received depends on the distance and physical barriers between the TV station transmitter and your location.
Move the antenna to get more channels and repeat the channel scan process as many times as needed. You can also rescan later if you add a new indoor or outdoor antenna.
AT Fiery TV smartphone app access Settings > Fire TV remake > Channel Management> Channel Scan .
On your Fire TV Fire Edition TV/Fire TV device or flash drive, select » Settings» > » Live TV» > » Live TV Sources» > » Fire TV Recast» > «Scan channels» .

Fire TV devices and Fire TV Edition TVs should automatically connect when a Fire TV restart is detected.
If your Fire TV device and Recast are not paired, use the Fire TV app to select » Settings» > » Live TV» > » Live TV Sources» > » Fire TV Recast» > » Pairing Fire TV Recast» and select your device.
If you don’t see these options in the app, select «Settings» > » My Fire TV» > » About the program» > » Check system update» and make sure you have the latest Fire TV software.
If you have an echo show, it should automatically connect to Fire TV Recast if it’s on the same network and signed into the same Amazon account.

Once the above steps are completed, the Fire TV Recast DVR is ready to use.
Using Recast with Fire TV
After installing Fire TV Recast category DVR is added to the top menu bar of a TV or Fire Edition TV with a Fire TV box/box connected to it.

Use your Fire TV remote or Alexa voice commands to open the DVR category to view and use the Fire TV Recast features.
AT lists » Now» the broadcast for the received channels is displayed. Choose one to watch or set the entry.
When watching Live TV with Recast, you can pause, rewind, and fast forward up to 90 minutes using Alexa or the player controls on your Fire TV devices, Echo Show, or the Fire TV app.
Fire TV Recast cannot record from streaming services like Netflix, Amazon video, Hulu, etc. It only allows you to record live TV broadcasts.

AT line » On Now» also may any live streaming services from live streaming or prime video applications will be displayed, but since they are not provided via an antenna, Recast cannot record their content.
View your recordings by selecting them on panel » My notes» using the buttons on your Fire TV or Alexa remote control.

To further explore what’s available to watch or record, Fire TV Recast includes a 14-day channel guide. Select Channel Guide from the DVR Manager line or just tell Alexa «Go to Channel Guide». Channel Guide includes TV listings for available channels. You do not need to enter a channel number. Just use your Fire TV remote to select it.

Recording schedule up to 14 days. In addition, you can use on-screen prompts to record individual TV shows or entire episodes as episodes become available.
Depending on whether you have two or four Recast tuners, you can record two or more programs at the same time on different channels. You can also watch a program or a previous recording and record one or more programs at the same time.

After setting up an entry, it is placed in the » Scheduled Recordings / Recording Priority», which can be accessed through DVR manager .

If you need to access additional Fire TV Recast settings, use the DVR Manager.

Using Fire TV Recast with Echo Shows
If you have an echo show, Fire TV Recast will be added to your Live TV viewing options.

Say: «Alexa, go to the channel’s management.» He will show you now for all available channels. To show more, say «Alexa, next.» Jump to a channel when you say something like «Alexa, tune in to CBS.»

Start recording by saying the name of the program: «Alexa, record Gotham.» Echo Show records all upcoming episodes unless you cancel them.
Echo show can display records that have been made. Tell Alexa to pick one by number and play it.

Using Recast with the Fire TV Smartphone App
In addition to using the Fire TV Smartphone app to set up Recast, use it as a remote control to start play, pause, FF, RW, etc. and control live TV with On Now and access To make a list of your recordings and play them back or start recording after starting the program (you cannot schedule recordings in advance).
Use the app to record a live show away from home, as well as view recordings you’ve already made while you’re connected to your home network via Wi-Fi or cellular.
