How to Mirror iPhone Screen to Mac Using AirPlay

Functionality Airplay allows mirror your iPhone screen on a Mac screen without a physical connection.

By default, AirPlay is designed to mirror your iPhone’s screen to an Apple TV or Airplay 2 compatible Smart TV. In order to use it for mirroring on Mac, third party software such as the app mentioned below is required.

Download and install Reflector on your Mac.
Open the Reflector app. The «Welcome to Reflector» screen should now appear. For the purposes of this guide, it is recommended to select » Try Reflector 3″ .

If you’re happy with the mirroring feature that Reflector offers, you can purchase it before or before the trial expires.
Make sure your iPhone and Mac are connected to the same WiFi networks .
Open Control center then click » Screen Mirroring» . If you don’t see the Screen Mirroring option, instead of this click air play .
The list of available devices should now be visible. Click on the name of the Mac you want to map to.
You will now be prompted to enter an AirPlay code that will appear on your Mac’s screen in the Reflector window. Enter this code and click OK .
A new Reflector window will now appear on your Mac, mirroring your iPhone’s screen. You can drag this window to move it to a new location or increase its size, as well as record its contents or take screenshots using the icons located at the top of the interface.
To stop mirroring at any time, simply exit the Reflector app on your Mac, or go back to Control Center on your iPhone and tap Stop mirroring» .

How to Share iPhone Screen on Mac with QuickTime

To mirror iPhone to Mac with QuickTime, you need to use lightning cable, which is included with your phone. For some newer Mac models, you may also need a Lightning-to-USB adapter for the physical connection.

QuickTime is no longer supported on macOS 10.15 and above, so the instructions below only apply if you’re still using an older version of macOS.

Set up a physical connection between your iPhone and Mac using the aforementioned cable.

If iTunes or the Photos app starts automatically when you connect, just close those apps and continue to the next step.

Run Quick Time Player through the Launchpad interface or the Applications folder. If you can’t find the QuickTime icon, use the search anywhere feature.

Click File > New film recording .

QuickTime Player will ask you to access your microphone at this point. Click OK .

You will then be prompted for permission to access the camera. Click OK yet once.

The movie recording interface should now appear. Click down arrow, located directly to the right of the «Record» icon.

Click iPhone in the CAMERA section.

QuickTime Player should instantly expand to display the contents of your iPhone’s screen.

While screen mirroring, you can record its content with QuickTime recording tools or just use it as a mirroring tool only.

To stop mirroring at any time, close the QuickTime Player application.
