Windows laptops often allow you to tap with one or more fingers on the touchpad or trackpad. If it bothers you, you can turn it off or turn it on if it doesn’t work.
Different laptops have the ability in different places
Typically, you can tap with one finger on the left mouse button and tap with two fingers on the right mouse button. This option is relatively easy to turn on and off, though it’s in different places depending on the touchpad hardware included by your laptop manufacturer and how they set it up. If you disable the click-and-click feature, you can still click by pressing the trackpad or pressing the buttons on it.
Many modern Windows laptops have Precision touchpads. If you have a laptop, you can configure touchpad settings and other touchpad settings directly from the Settings app in Windows 10.
How to disable or enable Tap to Click
To check if these features are available on your PC, go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad. (You can quickly open the Settings app by pressing Windows + i on your keyboard.)
In the Taps section, turn on or off the options «Tap with one finger with one click», «Tap with two fingers with the right mouse button», and «Tap twice and drag to select multiple times». The exact settings will depend on your computer. But if you don’t see them, your PC doesn’t have a Precision Touchpad and these settings need to be configured elsewhere.
If you don’t see any options here, you can click «Advanced Settings» under «Related Settings» in the Touchpad Settings panel.
