With so many third-party accessories available, you have plenty of fun ways to mount the Echo Dot, not only to get Alexa to hear you better, but also to keep it out of the way so it doesn’t take up space on your counter or end of the table.
Install a small shelf above the exit
If you want to keep the Echo Dot away from the counters so that it doesn’t get in the way, a very simple solution is to install a small shelf that can be attached to an outlet.
Something like this $10 outlet with a shelf is cheap and great for all sorts of small devices and the Echo Dot would fit perfectly on it. Heck, you could even mount your full size echo on it if you wanted. You can also purchase female mounts that hold the Echo Dot parallel to the wall, which will likely allow the microphones to hear you.
If you feel comfortable, you can also make your own wooden shelf or use a 3D printer if you are really handy, especially if you want to use your own design. Thingiverse has a lot of cool Echo Dot mounts that you can 3D print. And if you don’t have a 3D printer, there are services that will do the job for you.
Stick this in a recessed lighting jar
Recessed lights are great and they make any room look classy. Is there a light that really shouldn’t be there though? Instead, install an Echo Dot in one of these recessed lighting cans.
